Since 2001 the GPBA (originally called the International Breathwork Training Alliance) has promoted training standards for the ethical practice of dyadic and group breathwork, and has been committed to supporting and promoting the integration of breathwork in the world as a vital, ethical, evidence based professional healing modality that facilitates physical, emotional, intellectual and spiritual wellness.

Integral to our purpose is to enhance collaborations among breathwork schools and practitioners. We have already seen an unprecedented collaboration of organizations and practitioners from the continuum of professional breathwork modalities: from simple stress reduction breath techniques, to yogic breathing, to neural and emotional regulation breath practices, to non ordinary states of consciousness.

The Global Professional Breathwork Alliance is open to all Breathwork practitioners and schools agreeing to uphold the principles of ethics set forward by the Alliance.

About Heinz Gerd

Heinz Gerd Lange originally founded InBreath - the Institute for Breath Therapy and Transformational Healing in June 2000 together with Jane Okondo. Having met in 1996 they immediately discovered their mutual passion for the healing power of the breath and their vision of sharing this experience with as many people as possible.

Drawing on their expertise in the many healing approaches they embrace, Heinz Gerd and Jane set out to create a new training with a new concept. Unique, and for the first time in the UK, a Breath Therapy training was developed, that besides breathwork, also included the creative arts, Voice

Dialogue, transformational psychology, shadow and process work, the transpersonal, subtle anatomy and energy work, transformational healing and many other aspects of leading edge tools not reflected in other previous trainings.
